About UBUNTU Cultural Immersion Program
This is a four-week cultural initiative that was created with the support of the community for the youth who are in need of positive alternatives for their summer.
Structured as a Cultural Immersion Program it will offer an experience for teens aged 11 to 16 years of age, a time when they are formulating their identity and connection to culture.
The heart of the program is the belief that understanding one’s cultural history is essential for personal growth and empowerment. By immersing themselves in diverse cultural traditions, participants not only gain knowledge but also a sense of belonging and pride.
Over the course of four weeks, participants engage in a blend of activities such as arts and crafts, field trips, documentary screenings and physical activities. Each week will have a different focus/theme that are explored through the above mentioned activities. Areas include Fashion, Music, Dance, and History with each day running from 9am – 3pm.
